We are proud to announce that the 2024 calendar is available thanks to the valuable inputs provided by our members and with an objective to have as many participants as possible. We hope you are as excited as us to get back on the water and challenge other crews on this exciting platform.

The Uristier VC-Cup is a beautiful and usually windy regatta. If we have enough registrations to have our own start for the regatta it is planned to organize a class regatta in 2025. Watch this space as we confirm the final agenda for this event.

These regattas will be the ones counting for the Esse850 IC Cup, all with an equal weight. More regattas are agended on Zurich to be part of local Esse850 Cup and we’re also looking forward to gather many Esse850s together at other lake Leman regattas and “Semaines du Soir”.

The 9 boats who came at the Esse850 Class Championship in Morges didn’t regret it. It was a beautiful week-end with plenty of wind and sun. Thursday with 20 knots of wind, there were a few practice races.

L’European Cup de Malcesine 2022 a été comme chaque année un vrai plaisir pour les participants. Cela a commencé pour nous avec un départ de Lausanne à 7h le mercredi matin. 2 heures plus tard, nous prenons déjà notre premier café en Italie et on se sent en vacances. La route se passe sans encombre et comme d’habitude nous sommes bien accueillis à la Fraglia Vela Malcesine par tout le personnel. Le grutier est sympa, souriant et efficace et vers 18h, le bateau est à l’eau, l’équipage enregistré et pesé (petit moment de stress !) et nous pouvons prendre notre premier Spritz.

About The Class

The «Esse 850 International Class» is the official class-unification of the Esse 850 One-Design yachts and was founded in January 2007 at Schloss Rapperswil. Its task is to enable international regattas, stimulate communication among the sailors of the Esse 850 and promote and coordinate all activities in Switzerland and internationally.

In 2010, the Swiss Esse 850 Class was accommodated to «Swiss Sailing» as a Member Class and has been authorized to perform official Swiss Championships. The class association currently counts 50 members who actively participate in regattas.
