The long-awaited start of the racing season has finally arrived. Tomorrow, 19 teams from Switzerland, Italy and Germany will line up on Lake Lugano for the first race of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2015. Everything is set at the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano and many teams are already on site to get prepared for this exciting regatta.

It's about to become serious, the first regatta of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2015 is just around the corner. Several teams are already well prepared for the official start of season, the Alpen Cup at Lugano from 1st – 3rd of May. Many took part in one of various Esse 850-Trainings that were, for example, being held on the lakes of Garda, Zürich and Lugano.

Stephan Züger, president of the Esse 850 International Class, announces a delay of the general assembly of 2015. The general assembly of the Esse 850 International Class will no longer take place at the beginning of May at Lugano but just before the Swiss Championships on Lake Constance in October 2015.

About The Class

The «Esse 850 International Class» is the official class-unification of the Esse 850 One-Design yachts and was founded in January 2007 at Schloss Rapperswil. Its task is to enable international regattas, stimulate communication among the sailors of the Esse 850 and promote and coordinate all activities in Switzerland and internationally.

In 2010, the Swiss Esse 850 Class was accommodated to «Swiss Sailing» as a Member Class and has been authorized to perform official Swiss Championships. The class association currently counts 50 members who actively participate in regattas.
