No wind and no more races on the third day of the Mediterranean Cup 2016 in Lerici. The final ranking therefore remains the same as yesterday after four races which is why the GER 111 with Thomas Rudolphi captured the overall victory of the first event of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2016.

Two races could be sailed on day 1 of the Esse 850 Mediterranean Cup 2016 in Lerici. As predicted, a southwesterly breeze tuned in with 9-12knts and made a nice first race possible in the afternoon. The breeze did not hold on too long which is why the second race of the day had to be abbreviated.

The opening of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2016 is only one day away. Tomorrow, 12 teams from Switzerland, Italy and Germany will start the cup series at the Esse 850 Mediterranean Cup in Lerici (ITA).

No joke: On the 1st of April 2016, the Esse 850 International Class Cup already starts into its 10th season! The first of six events of the cup series 2016 takes place in Italy at the «Circolo della Vela ERIX» in lovely Lerici. The Mediterranean Cup will lead the Gentlemen’s Class back to the Mediterranean Sea for the first time since 2012.

Around about 250‘000 people visited the «boot» in Düsseldorf from 23rd – 31st of January 2016. The unique stand of «Esseboats» enjoyed high attention and attracted approximately 4‘500 fairgoers. Many new, interesting contacts could be made and several Esse were even sold on the spot. However, the greatest pleasure for Josef and Stefan Schuchter was to recognize the continuously ongoing enthusiasm about «Esseboats» amongst the sailing audience. The «boot» hence was a big power booster for «Esseboats» and a great start to the upcoming season. Many thanks to all visitors!
