Lake Garda is calling! Next week the Gentlemen’s Class will be back in Malcesine once more for another classical, much loved edition of the annual Esse 850 European Open. More than 20 teams from Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Austria are expected to take part in this major event of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2016 in one of the world’s most famous sailing areas.

No more races could be sailed on the third and final day of the Esse 850 Alpen Cup 2016 due to lack of wind. Yesterday’s preliminary results therefore automatically turn into the final ranking. The SUI 125, team «Aspra» with Urs Oldani, hence finally marked a much desired and well-deserved victory in the third event of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2016. The podium was completed by GER 113, team «martinesse» with Hans-Peter Martin, in second and the SUI 172, team «Ottocinque Due» with Alain Marchand, in third position. After their third place on the podium in a row, team «Ottocinque Due» currently also lead the preliminary total ranking of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2016.

Another two races were sailed on day 2 of the Esse 850 Alpen Cup 2016 on Lake Uri. The SUI 125, team «Aspra» with Urs Oldani, showed the best performance of the day with two second places and hence climbed up into the leading position of the preliminary ranking before tomorrow’s last day. However, standings are still pretty close with team «martinesse» only one point behind. We’ll let you know about the developments of the last day as soon as possible.
