Shortly after midday a nice breeze tuned in for the ninth and last race of the Esse 850 Geneva Cup 2016. As the decision for the overall victory was already made, team «Zebrabox» finished the race in second and left the last bullet of the regatta to the SUI 125, team «Aspra» with Urs Oldani (final results). The Esse 850 International Class thanks the host, namely the Société Nautique de Genève, for an outstanding event and a lovely weekend!

Difficult, light conditions presented themselves to the fleet on day 2 of the Esse 850 Geneva Cup 2016. However, the outstanding race committee somehow still managed to pull through 5 races. Another three races were won by the SUI 158, team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre, who therefore already claimed the overall victory of the Esse 850 Geneva Cup 2016 even before tomorrow’s last race (results). Congratulations, dear Zebrabox! Now, it’s down to the fight for the remaining positions on the podium on day 3. Stay tuned on www.esse850.org.

The fleet of 15 Esse 850 from Switzerland, Germany and Italy enjoyed a summery first day at the Esse 850 Geneva Cup 2016. Wind conditions were rather light but in the end still made three shifty races possible. Two of these three races could be won by the SUI 158, team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre. They hence lead the preliminary ranking three points ahead of team «Ottocinque Due» with Alain Marchand. The heat is on!

From 27th - 29th of May 2016, the second regatta of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2016 will take place at one of Switzerland’s most illustrious sailing clubs, namely the Société Nautique de Genève. Up until today, (only) 11 teams from Switzerland, Germany and Italy have registered for this very promising event. The class and organizing committee are thus hoping for many more teams to sign in for the Esse 850 Geneva Cup 2016 until the extended online inscription deadline on the 25th of May!
