The first two days of the European Open at Malcesine were sunny, windy and at the same time, due to smacking waves, kind of wet. Day three was also wet, but this time, the cause was rain. The weather did not allow any thermal breeze to build up, which is why sailing was sadly not possible.

And yet another afternoon of cracking «Ora» on day 2 of the Esse 850 European Open 2015 at Malcesine. The SUI 072 with Alain Marchand won two out of three races, but Team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre still lead the overall ranking by 6 points. For now, it’s time for a nice dinner with all competitors at Fraglia Vela Malcesine. We’ll be back tomorrow... Cheers!

The «Ora» came in early and strong today, very strong. In gusts up to 25knts, the fleet of the Esse 850 worked hard at Malcesine this sunny Thursday afternoon to sail three tough but very rewarding races. All races were clearly won by todays outstanding SUI 158, Team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre.

The «Ottocinque» has been the team to beat at pretty much all events of the Esse 850 International Class Cup for many years now. Past season, the SUI 072 with Alain Marchand also won the Esse 850 World Open at Malcesine and even prevailed over the SUI 081 with Eric Monnin, current 3rd in the ISAF World Match Race Ranking.

Next week is racing week! You better be ready for the European Open, a great highlight of the Esse 850 sailing season taking place from 29th of July until 1st of August 2015 at Malcesine on Lake Garda, Italy. The entry list currently counts 26 Teams from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy. With entries closing tomorrow, we expect the European Open 2015 to become a beautiful third event of the Esse 850 International Class Cup series with almost 30 teams battling for victory. For all super spontaneous teams among you, it’s not too late to register, yet. If you help us break the magic 30, we’ll be utterly grateful!
