The world's largest lake regatta celebrated its 80th anniversary – and Esseboats was strongly represented. Of the 580 boats at the Bol d'Or Mirabaud on Lake Geneva, 18 were Esseboats boats.
The light wind conditions demanded a lot of the participants. The majority of the impressive field took more than 24 hours for the 160 km long sailing distance. The Esse 850 excelled in their highly competitive class, in which 80 boats were represented, and took the first two places: The AUT 120 with Gerhard Wörndl on the tiller was the first to cross the finish line, 3 minutes before SUI 177 with Mathias Haufe and crew (see the results here). Congratulations!
