SUI 172 broke the “Röstigraben“ with reason! And yet, when we arrived on Friday in Bächau, the sky was low, grey and it was raining. But when arrived in Stäfa, (thanks Josef for the crane) the rain stopped as by miracle, the sun came back.
Due to an insufficient number of boats registered, the Esse 850 IC Cup grade 2 event in Ascona, originally planned for September 14th - 16th, had to be cancelled. We had a nice "Semaine de soir" in Pully (Lake Geneva) with nice weather and wind every evening. 58 boats were participating, including 10 Esse 850 and one Esse 990, which came from Vevey to Rolle, which was a record.
Not as usual, this year, the main event of the class, the Europa Cup Esse 850 in Malcesine, was fully stormy and full north wind «Pelèr » dedicaded.
Past weekend, the traditional Uristier-Regatta on Lake of Uri lived up to it's reputation: Heaps of sun, 27 degrees celsius and 25 kts of thermal breeze formed fantastic yacht racing conditions.

The «Esse 850 International Class» is the official class-unification of the Esse 850 One-Design yachts and was founded in January 2007 at Schloss Rapperswil. Its task is to enable international regattas, stimulate communication among the sailors of the Esse 850 and promote and coordinate all activities in Switzerland and internationally.
In 2010, the Swiss Esse 850 Class was accommodated to «Swiss Sailing» as a Member Class and has been authorized to perform official Swiss Championships. The class association currently counts 50 members who actively participate in regattas.
