First of all, thank you all very much for crossing your fingers! Yes, the fleet was out sailing today and yes, the first four races could be completed. The breeze was light, tricky and made for some interesting results, also concerning the total ranking of the Esse 850 IC Cup.

Team «Zebrabox», the SUI 158 with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre, had a slow start in the first race of the day but struck back impressively with a series of three bullets in the following three races. This leaves them at the top of the preliminary leader board of the Swiss Championships with a minimum of only three points. Places 2 to 6 are very close together but quite a little bit behind team «Zebrabox». In second place, the SUI 156 with Daniel Schroff (10 Pts.), in third the SUI 135 with Alec Tavel (11 Pts.) and then, surprisingly, the SUI 072, team «Ottocinque» with Alain Marchand, „only“ in fourth place with 12 Points.

Of course, the regatta is not over yet and tomorrow can still bring many changes. However, one thing needs to be put on record: If the ranking of the Swiss Championships remains unchanged, team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise pushes team «Ottocinque» from the top spot of the Esse 850 IC Cup’s total ranking!

For now, we’re off to celebrate the Esse 850 International Class at the official social event of the Swiss Championships 2015 at the «Brüggli» Restaurant in Romanshorn. Tomorrow, the first signal will be made at 9am. Stay tuned on www.esse850.org!
