The first two days of the European Open at Malcesine were sunny, windy and at the same time, due to smacking waves, kind of wet. Day three was also wet, but this time, the cause was rain. The weather did not allow any thermal breeze to build up, which is why sailing was sadly not possible.

At around about 2pm, most boats therefore made their way to the crane. Ironically, the teams found themselves packing up their gear in pounding rain and rather cold temperatures - conditions that you would not exactly expect when travelling to Lake Garda in the middle of summer. However, on the bright side, most teams were already good to travel back home after prize giving at 4.30pm.

Speaking of prize giving, let’s talk about the sailor’s achievements. With three straight bullets on day 1, team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre pretty much already paved the way for victory at the Esse 850 European Open 2015. On day two, team «Ottocinque» with Alain Marchand also managed to win two races but made too many mistakes in race number three to entirely catch up.

In the end, the SUI 158, team «Zebrabox» with Paul-Ambroise Sevestre, won the overall ranking of the European Open clearly with a 6-point lead over the SUI 072, team «Ottocinque» with Alain Marchand. The third place on the podium went to GER 113, team «Martinesse» with Hans-Peter Martin, who performed constantly well with a series of 4-4-5 on day number two.
