Team «Ottocinque» already win this year's first Esse 850-Trophy at the first event of the Esse 850 IC Cup 2015. Today, there was once more not enough wind for the fleet to go out. This means that yesterday's ranking automatically becomes the final ranking of the Alpen Cup 2015.

The SUI 072 had a difficult start on Saturday with a 7th place in the first race of the day. The «Ottocinque» though managed to raise their performance shortly after in an impressive manner with a 2nd and two bullets in the last three races and once again proved their dominance in this class. Nevertheless, their closest rivals were not at all far behind. Team «Sail NORTH», the SUI 156 with Daniel Schroff, also achieved extremely consistently and climbed to the 2nd position on the overall podium in spite of an early start (ocs) in race number three. Last but not least, the overall 3rd «SAS» of SUI 158 with Philippe Gaillard also climbed to the top 3 in spite of an early start and deservedly complete the podium of the Alpen Cup 2015.

On one hand, it was obviously quite disappointing to only have had one day of sailing, with no wind on Friday and Sunday. On the other hand, this one day of sailing was picture perfect. In the end, thanks to Saturday's conditions, a very competent race committee and the pleasant hospitality of the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano, the Alpen Cup 2015 was an absolutely worthy event for the Esse 850 season opening.
